This is just a sample of the work we do and where your money goes, be it a donation, or just simply enjoying our food and drinks.
Rachael one of the committee members did money management session. The youths got to blind taste cookies and guess which were the cheapest and most expensive cookies. They
shared their earliest memories of money and looked at all the different
influences on them about how they spend their money.
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to Ace Rowney Green for staging
the (Fun)draising Fashion Show last night and for choosing The Lounge
as their charity for the event. It was a really fun evening Thank
you to all those who attended & in turn supported The Lounge and a
special shout out to our very own Mark Newberry for standing up in
front of all those ladies and giving a valuable insight into what our
charity is about!
In our first management meeting of 2018 we reflected on the latest
funding support the Lounge has received – and it is truly overwhelming.
We wanted to say a public thank-you to the generous support we recently received from:
· Alvechurch Women’s Institute · Kings Norton Rhinos · R.M.B Services · The Baptist Church and its members · The Alvechurch Community Choir · Alvechurch Tree Care & Landscaping Ltd
The money will be used primarily for youth work; to buy resources and
fund a programme of visits and activities during 2018. We also have a
forward programme of interior refurbishment to undertake, alongside
exterior improvements in February.
This funding is all in addition to the amazing volunteers, the
generous lottery participants, and other kind organisations and people
who give us ongoing support.
On behalf of the Lounge, the Trustees are truly grateful for all the
assistance received – and we hope our supporters get the recognition
Many of you may have noticed that the Red Lion bus stop is looking a
little more colourful these days. The muruals that have been put up
inside the shelter were created by [email protected] The Lounge, along with Tim, Dawn, Hanah and Laura.
It is thanks to the support of the local people, businesses and council that help The Lounge create projects such as these that not only benefit those directly involved, but the wider community at large.
