Future of The Lounge meeting update

We'd like to thank everyone that turned up on Monday the 9th of March for the future of the Lounge meeting. The turn out was far better than we had could ever hoped for with some very positive responses form all areas of our community. It was hosted by Dave Shoesmith who has been involved from the beginning, but recently stepped down for personal reasons, but volunteered to be the voice of The Lounge, as it is still close to his heart.

Frank views about the future were put out to the audience as The Lounge and Alvechurch Communities Together have always believed in being honest and open about the project, as it affects everyone in the parish. The feedback we received from everyone attending was very positive and open, with some very good suggestions coming forward.

One theme that came out over and over again, was what an impact the Lounge has had,not just with the youth, but the much wider community, be they young or old.

At the meeting we asked for people to volunteer to step up and take on the role of trustee to help push the project into the next phase and ensure that it not only gets through these short term issues, but develop it even further. Once the board of trustees is appointed, we will then be spreading our search out further to members of the community who can bring real world skills to the project and help push it onward and secure its future.

If you would like to become a trustee, or get involved, please get in touch with Sally our project coordinator This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or use the contact form on this website.

Once again a big thank you to everyone that attended.
