We migrated our website to new servers today and there were a few hiccups as we moved things across. During this time if you visited the website you may of either been asked to download a file, or it may of automatically done it without you being prompted (depending on your browser). Don't worry, they are completly harmless, small text files that are required when you visit almost any website. The issue was the way it was set up on the server, your device was told to download it instead of running it.
Apologies for any concern this may of caused and it's all fixed now....you can be sure of this this because you can read this article.
If you want any more info, just fill in the contact form and I'll explain.
Stu (The Lounge IT guy).
Just to let you know we have added the Youth face book stream to the website, so that those of you that dont have (or don't want) a Facebook account can still get the latest updates. Just go to the About @youth or Youth News pages and you should find it there.
They are back and tickets are on sale now. High Tea included in the price. All are welcome for some toe tapping, sing a long sounds to liven up a Monday afternoon, starting at 2pm on the 23rd of March.
Tickets on sale now at The Lounge - limited spaces, so hurry to avoid disapointment.
We would just like to say a thank you to the Scarfield Business Park and Store 4 U Ltd for the kind donations they made at the end of last year. It's a little late due to the website redesign, but we hadn't forgotten it.
We would like thank to Specialist Computer Centres in Birmingham for their kind donation of 3 computers for use by everyone in The Lounge. These were bought in, along with one already in place purchased by ACT, to replace the original 4 Windows XP machines, that were also originally provided by SCC. Combined with heavily discounted Microsoft licenses from the Technology Trust, it allows us to offer free high speed internet access, Microsoft Office 2013 and a host of other applications to both the Youth nights and Cafe users.
For all of you that love to save money, we have now added Alvechurch Communities Together to the list opf places you can grab a bargain and at the same time, give a small amount to ACT in the process. Along with eBay and Easy Fundraising, we have made it easier to give while you save.
Once again, thanks to everyone for your continuing support.
The new website has finally arrived, a little later than hoped, but we hope you like it. All the content from the old one has been carried across and this one will be updated to bring it up to date over the next couple of weeks.
Other than "boring" technical reasons to perform the update, the new website will workmuch better on mobiles, tablets and modern browsers.
We've gone for a more simplified design, making it easier to find your way around, cutting out much of the things that didn't focus on the core principles of the charity. We've added a Facebook feed for those of you that don't have accounts and for those of you that do, you'll find it easier to go back over past posts.
The site is still a little bit of an "in progress" update, so please feel free to let us know, via the contact form, if you come across any bugs, or errors on the pages, as we may of missed them.
As always we'd like to thank you for the ongoing support and look forward to hearing from you.
